Jody Lane-Molnari** ('86 pol. sci., psych) is the management analyst III -- IDHS, Division of Fiscal Managment, Bureau of Purchased Services. Jody lives in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Suzie Berregaard** ('83 forestry) is licensed by the Iowa Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators on 4/17/2007. Suzie also obtained Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification by the Human Resource Certification Institute on 6/30/07. She is currently serving as Corporate Counsel (JD) for On With Life, Inc., Ankeny, Iowa. Suzie lives in Grimes, Iowa.

Bruce Towne* ('88 DVM), has passed certification testing for Diplomate status in the American College of Preventative Veterinary Medicine (www.acvpm.org), and is now (8/1/2007) a member of the ACVPM. Dr. Towne is a graduate of the ISU College of Agriculture (BS, 1979), and the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, 1988). Dr. Towne is in private mixed clinical practice in Gowrie, Iowa.

Douglas Meikle** ('86 comp. sci.) retired March 2007 after 20 years of service in the US Air Force and relocated to Colorado Springs, Colo.

Nancy R. Simon** ('85 elec. engr.) is a Senior Patent Attorney for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. Nancy resides in Webster, New York.

Shennon Herbold** ('85 animal sci.) will mark the third anniversary of the opening of Shennon's on the Green, November 2007. The steakhouse is located on Brookside Golf Course in Kingsley. It is the first restaurant owned and operated by myself with a staff of 20.

Beverly Roskos-Ewoldsen** ('83 psych.) was appointed Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama, 8/16/07. Beverly coordinates the academic affairs of the Social Sciences Division (11 departments/units) and leads the Learner Centered College Initiative. Beverly lives in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

John Vinzant* ('92 hist., pol. sci.) and his wife, Stacy, welcomed twins, Jackson and Evelyn on December 21st, 2006.

John Vinzant* ('92 hist., pol. sci.) received his Ph.D. in August 2006, in a ceremony at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is currently working as a professor of political science in Springfield, IL at Lincoln Land Community College.

John Vinzant* ('92 hist., pol. sci.) was married October 23, 2004 to Stacy Valentine in Centerville, IA. The couple resides in Chatham, Ill.

Reece Mahood** ('92 pol. sci.) and wife, Cammie and big brother, Kiernan, welcomed a little boy, Euan Pyne Mahood, on January 21, 2007. He was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long. The Mahood's reside in Pittsburg, Calif.

Inaki Etxebarria** (’91 indus. engr.) just opened a Bread & Breakfast in Navarre, Basque country (Euskalherria). Inaki is also the proud father of Xabier Etxebarria Abrisketa, born on July 20th, 2006 and Naroa Etxebarria Abrisketa, born on October 1st, 2003. Last, he recevied an MS on thermo techniques, Universitat Politecnica De Catalunya (BARCELONA). MBA, Euskalherriko Unibertsitatea (BILBAO). Inaki lives in Spain.

Justin Bernard* ('96 acct.) and wife, Kati (Jividen) Bernard* ('01 journalism) announce the birth of their Lil' Clone, Tyler Keith, on March 18, 2007. He definitely is the next Bernard Cyclone! The Bernard family lives in Overland Park, Kan.

Matthew Hillis** ('00 const. engr.) and wife, Sara (Gilman) Hillis** ('00 psych., mgmt.) announce the birth of their third son on July 3, 2007. Samuel Joseph weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. Sam joins brothers Aidan, 4, and Jack, 2 1/2. The Hillis family resides in Clive, IA.

Tamara Flarup** ('75 PEW) was inducted into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) national Hall of Fame on July 3, 2007, at their annual workshop in San Diego. She is just the seventh woman inducted on the 50th anniversary of the organization. Flarup has been at the University of Wisconsin Athletic Dept. since 1977 first as their director of women's sports information, and now as the Director of Web Site Services. Tamara lives in Madison, Wis.

Craig Adamson* ('96 CRP) was the 2005 ISU Alumni Association's James Hopson Alumni Volunteer of the Year. Craig lives in Marion, Iowa.

Robert K. Brayton** (’56 elec. engr.) a professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California at Berkeley and one of the world’s preeminent authorities on logic synthesis and formal verification—two fields that have cut design costs for semiconductor chips, has been named the recipient of the IEEE 2006 Emanuel R. Piore Award. Robert is a design automation expert who lives in Berkeley, Calif.

Linda (Hunt) Purkapile* ('72 int. dsn.), Associate Director for Delta Delta Delta, invites Omega Deltas, especially from graduation classes 1968 through 1974, to attend Convention 2008 in Chicago. Lyle Hansen, Jr.** (’70 ag. bus.) has been presented with the Iowa Farm & Land Chapter of the REALTORS Land Institute 2007 Iowa Farm & Land Broker of the Year award. The Farm & Land Broker of the Year Award serves as recognition for outstanding efforts to serve clients and customers in real estate sales and for contribution and support to the Iowa Chapter of the REALTORS Land Institute. Lyle lives in Audubon, Iowa.

Tanya (Keith) Jotzke** (’96 int. dsn.) and husband, Doug, are proud parents of their second born child, Raphael Asher Keith Jotzke, born July 31, 2007 at 9:56 p.m. weighing 9 lbs. 12 oz. He joins big sister Aviva. Tanya also opened a second location for her store, “Simply for Giggles,” in the West Glen Tower Center in West Des Moines on Aug. 24, 2007. The ribbon-cutting for the store was Oct. 11, and the grand opening party was Oct. 13. She now has locations in West Des Moines and in Des Moines’ East Village. Tanya lives in Des Moines, Iowa

Maureen (Hurd) Hause* (’94 music) was honored as a former Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship recipient at the 2007 Phi Kappa Phi Triennial Convention held in Orlando, Fla., last month. Maureen, a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., and professor at the Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University, presented to the attendees her professional accomplishments since receiving the Fellowship in 1994.

Walter J. Hawkins* (’87 chem. engr.) is now partner and president of Teal Technologies of Rockford, Ill., having helped found the manufacturing company in 2004. Teal Technologies offers innovative solutions to environmental and industrial clean-up efforts worldwide. Walter says: “My education at Iowa State University helped me gain the academic, interpersonal, and results-driven work ethic that has allowed me to succeed at several large manufacturing firms before now being partner in my own firm.” Walter lives in Delafield, Wis.

Duane Ohnemus** (’83 animal sci.) writes to inform us that Ohnemus Farms, Inc., has received the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association’s environmental stewardship award for 2007. He and his wife, Mary Jo Ohnemus, own and operate a family farm in Milo that includes an Angus and polled Hereford purebred cowherd, a small feedlot and crops of corn, soybeans, and hay. The family has installed many miles of tile and terraces and maintains protective cover on the land. Their cattle rotationally graze permanent pastures. Crop fields are minimum-tilled or no-tilled to preserve crop residues. They have built or maintained 11 ponds to control erosion and provide ample watering sources. Duane recently served as chairman of the Whitebreast Creek Watershed Project.

Heidi (Hilleman) Ernst* (’99 int. dsn.) and her husband, John Ernst, are proud parents of a baby boy, Joseph Michael M. Ernst, born on Aug. 9, 2007 at 2:54 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 13 oz., 19 “ long. Heidi lives in Olathe, Kan.
