John Atanasoff (’26 mathematics)

Father of the Computer: Near the U.S. Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria, you can learn more about John Atanasoff (’26 mathematics) while waiting for public transport. The late professor, of Bulgarian heritage, is credited for building the first electronic digital computer at Iowa State.
